Preoperative EKG should be requested for: Male > 45 years, Female > 55 years
Cardiac diseases
Family history for sudden death
The following risk factors: Diabetes, Hypertension, Collagen Diseases, Obesity / Hyperlipidemia
Smoking ( > 10 – 15 cigarettes / day), peripheral arterial diseases
Therapy with: Antidepressive Agents Tricyclic, Phenothiazine, Doxorubicin, Anthracycline, Diuretics
Major abdominal, vascular and neurosurgical operations
